About Us
This document sets out the Terms of Business for Coast Skin Ltd (CSL), a skin cancer
and skin lesion assessment and treatment clinic operating in New Zealand.
By booking an appointment, receiving services, or engaging with CSL in any way, you
agree to these Terms of Business.
Services Provided
We provide skin cancer checks, lesion assessments, biopsies, excisions, and related
dermatological procedures.
All clinical decisions are made based on professional judgement, available information
at the time of consultation, and accepted clinical standards
Appointments
ï‚· Appointments are required for all consultations and procedures.
ï‚· Appointment times are allocated to allow appropriate care; late arrival may result
in a shortened consultation or the need to reschedule.
ï‚· CSL reserves the right to decline or discontinue services where appropriate,
including for safety, clinical, or behavioral reasons.
Fees and Payments
ï‚· Fees vary depending on the service provided and complexity of care.
ï‚· Payment is due on the day of service, unless otherwise agreed in writing or
covered by a Patient Payment Plan.
ï‚· We accept [payment methods – e.g. EFTPOS, credit card, bank transfer].
ï‚· Fees may change without notice; the fee applicable is the one on the day of
service.
1. Patient Payment Plans
ï‚· Patient Payment Plans may be offered under certain circumstances at CSL’s
discretion and must be agreed to in writing prior to treatment.
ï‚· Payment Plans do not reduce the total fee payable.
ï‚· Patients must adhere to the agreed payment schedule.
ï‚· Missed or late payments may result in the full outstanding balance becoming
immediately payable.
ï‚· CSL reserves the right to suspend or decline further non-urgent treatment if
payments are not kept up to date.
2. Estimates

ï‚· Any fee estimates provided are indicative only.
ï‚· Actual fees may vary depending on findings or procedure complexity.
Southern Cross, Insurance & ACC
ï‚· CSL is registered for Southern Cross Easy-Claim.
ï‚· Where eligible, we can lodge Southern Cross claims on behalf of patients at the
time of their appointment.
ï‚· Patients are responsible for confirming insurance cover prior to their
appointment.
ï‚· CSL is not responsible for declined or partially paid insurance claims.
ï‚· If able, patients should provide valid Southern Cross membership details.
ï‚· Any portion of fees not covered by Southern Cross remains the patient’s
responsibility and is payable on the day of service.
ï‚· Patients are responsible for confirming their level of cover; CSL is not
responsible for declined or partially paid insurance claims.
ï‚· ACC coverage is limited and may not apply to skin cancer-related services.
Pathology and External Providers
ï‚· Pathology services are provided by Awanui Labs.
ï‚· CSL is not responsible for delays or errors caused by external providers.
Cancellations and Non‑Attendance
ï‚· We require at least 24 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations or
rescheduling.
ï‚· Late cancellations or failure to attend may incur a fee.
 Procedure appointments may incur higher non‑attendance fees due to reserved
clinical time and resources.
Results and Follow‑Up
ï‚· Results will be communicated via phone, email or GP letter.
ï‚· It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure contact details are current.
ï‚· Follow‑up appointments may be required and are the patient’s responsibility to
attend.
Consent
ï‚· Informed consent is obtained prior to procedures.
ï‚· By consenting, you acknowledge that all medical procedures carry inherent risks,
including bleeding, infection, scarring, recurrence, and need for further treatment.
Patient Responsibilities
Patients agree to: Provide accurate and complete medical history and information.
Follow post‑procedure care instructions. Treat staff with courtesy and respect.

Abusive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in
discharge from CSL.
Privacy and Confidentiality
ï‚· We comply with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy
Code.
ï‚· Patient information is collected, stored, and used solely for the purpose of
providing healthcare and associated administrative functions.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law: CSL is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Liability is limited to the cost of the service provided. Nothing in these Terms limits rights
under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
